How do get my North Carolina real estate license?

To start with, you should be at least 18 years old and a US citizen/a non-citizen national/ a qualified alien (Green Card holder), and also have a Social Security Number.

Complete pre-license education

According to the North Carolina law, you are to complete 75 hours of pre-license education to become a licensed real estate agent. Those hours must cover real estate principles, law of agency, law of contracts, and real estate law.

Take the state license exam

The exam fee per attempt is $64.

You cannot bring personal items to the examination room, as the Commission want to ensure that you do not cheat on the test.

Is the North Carolina real estate exam hard?

Generally, most applicants confirm that the real estate exam is hard in North Carolina. Nevertheless, it is not impossible to pass as long as you take your time and prepare decently.

The exam contains 120 questions. 80 of the questions belong to the National portion, while the other 40 belong to the State portion.

For the entire exam (two portions) you will have three hours and a half to complete the test.

To pass the exam, you should score 57/80 on the National portion and 29/40 on the State portion.

After passing the exam, you will receive your license in seven or ten business days. If there are any issues relating to character, the process may be rather lengthy.
